Why we built this

In Nairobi, waiting is part of the service experience — and not in a good way. Barbershops in Kasarani run three-hour queues on Saturday mornings. Car washes in Westlands turn away customers who can't afford to wait. Clinics in Parklands have patients sitting in corridors from 8am. This is lost time, lost business, and unnecessary friction for everyone involved.

JBOOKING solves this with a simple idea: book before you go. Customers place their order or reserve their spot on the map — the business gets notified, prepares, and the customer arrives when they're ready. No queue. No wasted journey. No "come back in two hours."

Built for Kenya

JBOOKING is not an international product adapted for Kenya. It was designed here, for the Nairobi market, from the beginning. Payments are M-Pesa only — because M-Pesa is what Kenyans use. Vendor onboarding takes 10 minutes — because vendors are busy running their businesses, not filling in forms. The interface works on any smartphone — because that is what most customers carry.

We serve 20+ service categories — from traditional barbershops to dental clinics, from pet grooming studios to event venues — because the queue problem is not limited to one industry. Anywhere people wait, JBOOKING can help.

How it works

Vendors join JBOOKING with a one-month free trial, then Ksh 399/month — less than Ksh 15 a day. In return they get a live listing on the Nairobi map, a real-time queue dashboard, an order management system, and a Ksh 15 booking fee paid by every customer who pre-orders. It takes 10 minutes to set up and works on any phone or laptop.

Customers browse the map, see which businesses are open, check the live queue, and pre-order in under 60 seconds. They get a QR code confirmation and an estimated wait time. When their order is ready, they head over — and walk straight in.
